"All I Want Is You" Marriage Proposal Party!

It was the first cover on YouTube of the song and has garnered a lot of plays. Anyways, a few weeks ago I was contacted by a gentleman by the name of Jovan. He was looking to propose to his girlfriend of 5 years to this song. He said she loves the song and one of his friends pointed him in my direction from YouTube. I had a show with my band, the Gents, on the 2nd up in Hollywood and he wanted to know if I could stick around LA and play the song the next day at his surprise engagement party. Hell yes! How could I not?! It sounded absolutely adorable and tres cool so why not help the guy out?!So my friend and I showed up at his girl's house where all her family was. It was like they were going to have a Saturday get together. There was a DJ, cervezas & tequila, a taquiza taco cart (OH JOY!!!!!!), family and friends. He told his girl, Lorena (spell?), that I was a friend from his class. We sent her off to pick up her friend and set to work! Changed all the table cloths, flowers on the tables, cloth walkway with rose petals, big ol' "Will You Marry Me?" banner with their picture, mariachi band came and setup, Jovan's family started showing up, etc. Then came the nervous wait as she arrived...My heart was POUNDING. I can't even begin to imagine how Jovan felt at that moment. I wasn't nervous at first (my friend was more nervous for me than I was), but then it started to set in that this was a moment that they would remember, um, FOREVER. If I messed up, their story would always be "And when you proposed to me and that guy on guitar messed up..." Heavy! But in she walked, I played the song, she said yes, people laughed and cried, everyone was happy. It was a very beautiful moment and, I'm not going to lie, my eyes watered up. What, it was emotional! I was honored to be able to allow Jovan realize that special moment. He wanted to compensate me, but there was no way I could let him pay a thing. It was absolutely amazing. I finished my Corona, had a few more tacos, and was on my way.ThanX Jovan and congratulations to the both of you!
