Written and recorded after hearing George Bush Sr. talk about a "New World Order" in 1991 but, it's an Old World Order. I recommend listening only when you don't have to be extremely sociable, the intent is to sensitize through music and simultaneously to this history in order to sensitize to the present, or just more so to the present. Please excuse the intensity, I've held onto this for 17 years and finally found a means to present it in the spirit it was written. "Desensitization, The Evil That Speaks Softly" was recorded on a Yamaha 4 track recorder then, and then transferred into digital over a year ago. Coltrane's last period, among other things, reflected the unrest of the Civil Rights Movement. His album, "Meditations," helped a great deal to inspire this recording.
