This is an annual event in celebration of Canada Day. Most events in the dance music scene only feature DJ performances. The SouLive Music Series features DJ sets as well as live performances from bands and vocalists. This is a very rare chance for house music enthusiasts to experience the music they hear their favorite DJ's spinning, live on stage.Headlining this year's concert will be multi-platinum selling producer Osunlade, founder of Yoruba Records, known as one of the most important dance music labels in the world. Along with a DJ set by Osunlade will be the first ever Toronto performance by Osunlade's live band, the Yoruba Soul Orchestra. This band is comprised of 10 incredibly talented musicians from Greece, Italy and the USA including Grammy Award nominated vocalist Nadirah Shakoor. Easily one of the most gifted producers of soul & funk influenced deep house, Osunlade, an ordained priest in the African religion of Ifa, graces everything he touches with spiritual, uplifting vibes. Osunlade has several critically acclaimed albums to his credit as well as a globally respected record label. He is in constant demand for production and remixes from labels and artists everywhere. Osunlade has performed all over the world as a DJ and a musician with his Yoruba Soul Orchestra, spreading his unique Afro-Latin spiritually infused deep house sounds.
