There was a programme on the tele in about 1993 called Bangkok Buskers and one of the buskers was a boy of about 12 who had no musical instruments except his voice and castanets. I don't know what it was about him but he seemed more talented than the others. I was recording the programme so I sampled bits of what he was singing and 'castanetting' and built this tune round him. I was trying to do a Deep Forest I think.I've looked everywhere on the Internet for a video or even a picture of this boy but can't find him. Lots of other Bangkok buskers (see slide show) but not him. He'll be getting on for 30 now. I wonder what he's doing. Maybe he'll hear this music and recognise himself.I made this in my humble back bedroom electronic home studio with Atari, Cubase, Yamaha SY35 and DX7, Roland DR660 drum machine and Replay 16 sampler. This is one of the first things I made. I was quite pleased with it at the time and even now, about 15 years later, it sounds reasonable. I don't think it fits into any of the sub genres of 'electronica'. It's just me having fun making music.I'm putting my music on YouTube so I can get some honest opinions about it (from people who don't know me and won't just be polite) and maybe some constructive criticism too. Once I've got it all up here (about 70 tracks made between 93 and 98) I'll start making music again but this time all done on the computer using Reason.
