This is David Bridie's unreleased studio version of "Map Ref. 41ºN 93ºW", a song originally written and recorded by legendary post-punk band Wire for their album "154".David recorded this grungy, affectionate cover in 2000 during sessions for his first solo record "Act of Free Choice". It was also an inclusion in his band's live set at this time.Although the recording was omitted from the final album cut it was intended as a bonus inclusion on the "Act of Free Choice" DVD, authored to completion by Rik Nicholson. The DVD was to have included promo clips for all the songs on the album, commentary by David on every clip, three bonus tracks ("Map Ref.", "Hide" and "Malaria"), and a 12-minute interview segment, but was oddly shelved by EMI.With David's permission, we can now rock out to his cover of a song he clearly admires (thanks DB).Artwork/authoring: Rik NicholsonDavid Bridie - keyboards, vocals, production, charismaPhil Wales - guitar, general animal magnetismMichael Barker - drums, cowbell, plastic earsIan Caple - programming, co-production
