On of my nicest finds:A Doran-Cunningham Air Whistle, size 4-A (8"), serial 11187, built in Seattle, WA. in the early 40s.This old whistle comes from the "San Pablo", a classic tugboat built in 1943, by the Spedden Shipbuilding Co., Baltimore, MD.After completion, she sailed for Gamboa, Panama CZ, to join her owner, the Dredging Division. She then towed barges carrying sand and dirt taken from the canal by the huge dredge "Cascadas", built in 1914 and steam powered.Renamed San Pablo II, then Aquilon and finally Red Sea, she's been decomissionned under this name and moored to a quay in Panama City, FL. There, she's been bought by divers, with the help of a local real estate company, to become a diving reef.Scuttled in 2007, she's now part of the "Infiniti Blue Reef", in front of Panama City.http://www.pcdivecenter.com/calendar/calendar.htmhttp://www.emeraldcoastphotoseast.com/mycapture/folder.asp?event=312917http://www.redorbit.com/news/science/1028678/red_sea_blu_reef_historic_label_also_okd_for_1929/index.htmlThis horn has been sold to me by one of the tug's last Chief Mates.Music: Destination Calabria, by Alex Gaudino.Tug San Pablo:IMO number :8942761.
