This is the Scherzino, the third movement, from the Suite Cavatina by the Polish composer Alexandre Tansman. It was written around 1951 for the eminent guitarist Andres Segovia. While the suite has a relatively modern quality to it, it remains rather tonal, as Segovia would never play anything too "modern" (thus his rejection of Stravinsky's offer to write him a piece for the guitar). I recommend using the high quality option to watch all my videos, but this one especially. It is recorded here on a Michael Thames cedar-top guitar.
