Using my Palm Treo 700wx to connect to the Alltel EVDO internet on celltowers I have driven from Phoenix to Tucson, Phoenix to Yuma, phoenix to Prescott and now Phoenix to Flagstaff, AZ with the internet working the entire drive except for a hick up every now and then when my streaming music skips a few times.So in this video I recently tried it out for the first time as I drove to one of our jobs in Flagstaff, AZ.I live near Surprise, AZ which is west of phoenix. I connected it to the internet to listen to music and I drove into Phoenix then up north to Camp Verde and then on up to Flagstaff. About 130+ miles and the internet actually worked the entire drive there!I use Alltel because they have probably the best service in this part of the country. Also, Verizon are Nazi's and will charge you for over using your internet especially if you tether to your laptop. Sprint and AT&T blocked the tethering feature alltogether. Alltel charges an additional $10 a month to tether, but my Alltel rep told me NOT to sign up for it unless they catch me using it first. Alltel has not blocked my tethering ability or charged me anything extra. I've been doing this for 10 months now straight! 5 days a week to my laptop in my work van! :)It is fast enough to surf youtube but I primarly use it to stream music through shoutcast via WinAmp media player. Music streams in mp3 or AAC formats. AAC is the new and greatest thing requiring less bandwidth than mp3.
