This is a relatively short flamenco soleares. The tapping you hear is called a golpe. It is a blow or tap on the soundboard of the guitar while playing. In this particular piece, I used only the middle finger to perform the golpe. The golpe was performed during the tremolo section by using the middle finger to hit the side of the guitar at the same time the thumb made its downstroke. The tremolo used in this piece is a p,i,a,m,i tremolo. I recorded this piece years ago when I unfortunately used to emphasize speed over good rhythm and control.
