I'm breaking up the schedule, but I wanted to add this video real quick before I left for vacation.This little video is something that I've seen done before, so it's not new, but I wanted to try a different approach. Though I love, love, love the music of Metal Gear and wouldn't change it at all, I've often wondered if the series would benefit from a more orchestral sound than it's used to. It does have it's moments, but by and large, the soundtracks are all very electronic based and sometimes lack the cinematic feel that the cut scenes evoke so beautifully. Again, not saying the music is bad, I just would like to see a more film based approach and that's exactly what this video is about.The E3 2006 trailer for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots featured a music-free battle between Ninja Raiden and a horde of Metal Gear Gekko's. Perfect for editing with, right? Well, I wanted to add some very cinematic and heroic music and even give Raiden a little theme that could represent him. Using music from Aaron Zigman's Bridge To Terabithia score, here's my little take on the amazing Ninja Raiden scene. I've also added Quinton Flynn's voice, replacing the Japanese dub that appears in the trailer, for when Raiden says it's his turn to protect Snake. Here's to hoping the scene is even better in the finished version on June 12th. The video tag at the end will be my permanent one from now on, but there's going to be some inconsistencies with the posting from here on out due to the scheduling. Enjoy the vid.
