Holy crap. I started recording this joke at like 11. Then after I recorded the joke I knew I had to write the song, and then I wrote the song, and then I recorded this. It's now 4:45 in the morning. Ideally before I put a song online or something I'd you know... learn it, maybe even do a bit of editing. But by god this is the joke every day project, and I've learned that when inspiration comes it's best to try to work with it and not put it off because it can be a fleeting thing. You'll notice my eyes not on the screen when I'm singing it, that's because I don't know any of my own lyrics, because I just freaking wrote them. I hope you'll forgive my slight indiscretion but I can't memorize 50 digits of pi and a page of lyrics quite that quickly. Perhaps in time. Drinking Game: spot all the math terms I've "artistic licensed" the shit out of (i.e., misappropriated). Each time I misuse a term, take a shot. Other words I wanted to work in but didn't have a chance: radius, diameter... uh... I forget. I need to be unconscious almost immediately. If you think of some, let me know.Mathematologists: Please don't steal my jokes. If you do I'll divide your butt with my foot.

This is a composition I'd been working on for a while (mostly because of perfectionism) after I'd gotten all the tools to do it.I made this piece my taking pi/π to an arbitrary number of places and converting the numbers zero through nine into notes on the treble clef, converting five into F-sharp and eight into A-sharp.I used Euler's number for the bass clef, also to an arbitrary number of places, also using F-sharp, but deciding to make A-sharp into B-flat for easier notation.The entire thing was originally eight minutes, but I compressed and cut it down to 2:07 (while maintaining the order of pi and Euler's number to the digit). I took liberties with staccato, rests, bracing and time, but pretty much kept the volume the same throughout to make it easier on the ears.I used Anvil Studio for the initial notation, keying the notes using a Keystation 25 board, and M-Audio Session to finish it up. The images are visualisations that popped out as the final product played in real-time.Enjoy and send me comments should you wish! :-)
