Kostas, a grad student I had the pleasure of working with, gave me a CD of Greek music. One of the songs was really awesome, although I had absolutely no idea what they're saying. That summer, John was working in Idaho, so we made this video to tell him we missed him. I hope the subtitles show up... otherwise this video will make absolutely *no* sense. (Not like it makes any sense now... :) )Fun story -- there's one part where I'm throwing around couch cushions on the beach. How do couch cushions get on the beach, and how do so many of them get there? The answer is this: every summer at UCSB, old students move out and new students move in. Many of the new students bring their own furniture, and leaving students couldn't care less where their old, beer-stained, grimy couches go. So at the beginning of every summer, there's this overabundance of couches. However, nature has provided a solution: the houses on Del Playa, where the most grimy and beer-stained couches reside, have balconies that overlook the beach. Remember when the UCSB soccer team beat UCLA and the students threw the goal posts into the ocean? Well, they had plenty of time to practice on couches ahead of time!
