This is the official trailer from the movie The Other Boleyn Girl Movie with music only... or at least the music available. Why did I bother making this? Because I like the music obviously, the first few seconds is Conquest (No Choir) from X-ray Dog, after the columbia titles it is Here Comes the King (With Choir) also by X-ray Dog and finally the dramatic music near the end is my favourite Lucius Dei (Choir version) from Immediate Music- which you may also find in my Ben 10 trailer. Hope you like the music.Edit: I think this video could have been stolen by certain people. Please know that this video is the orginal version that was mixed in Mixcraft and put togther in Windows Movie Maker. Surprisingly it's been a little over a year now that I've been doing this music newsletter thing. And actually last week was the first week I missed, but it was completely out of my control; didn't have access to my email list. That's beside the point though... recently I was reminded by a reader that when I first started this -- I said I started it to expose people to music that you're not likely to get through more 'mainstream' mediums. For whatever reason I've gotten away from that a bit over the past couple months -- but would like to revisit that notion again. This week I have a band I know some of you are familiar with -- but my guess is a lot of people are not 100% familiar with these songs... and if you like funk and newer jazz and HAVEN'T ever explored Medeski Martin & Wood... then you've been missing out.The first song is titled 'Shine It'Main reason I like it: it's a great iPod song... I was on the bus ride home the other day looking out the window, at basically nothing...just looking at the same stuff I look at everyday on the bus ride home. When this songcame on though, I noticed everything became a lot more interesting. In my world that's why mp3 players are special. Not because you can listen to music and sort of zone out... that's not it at all. Your iPod or whatever mp3 player you have can actually enhance the world around you. Just think of it in terms of a movie... how much worse would most movies be if they didn't have any music? Obviously most movies would not be nearly as good. BUT, it has to be the right music... a great deal of thought goes into making/picking movie music... they don't just throw on a random track and expect the scene to be better. Same deal with the iPod and the movie that is your life.I will say though that when I see people at places like, giant eagle, with iPods on -- I kind of think it's absurd. This one time I was in the middle of asking one of the Giant Eagle clerks where something was, and some huge geek comes storming over with his iPod on and just like screams in our faces, 'Hey where can I find the cottage cheese!!' all loud n shit cause he had his iPod on, not even realizing I was in the middle of talking to the guy. I was just like wow, turn your iPod off you idiot. I didn't actually say that I just thought it -- but people like that piss me off.Alright song number two: It's titled Miami Gato. It's just solid, very chill... and I'd say it's more 'interesting' than the first song, as it goes through a lot of different moods..Alright, enjoy:
