User comment: "This is the sad story about the sweet Ingrid, a true and faithful catholic who never hurt anyone! But unfortunately this goodhearted and innocent girl is being constantly harassed and sex-offended by her asocial and psychopathic boyfriend Fredrik! Poor Ingrid, she didn't have a clue what she was getting in to when she moved in with with him!!!Do you really have the guts to watch this film to the end, I mean can you really watch in detail how piece by piece he breaks her down and turns her daily life into living hell, and finally pushing her into psychosis before he brutally stabs her to death??? CAN YOU!?I ask you becuase do you really DARE to watch this horrifying motion pictore? I ask you becuase maybe you think you have the stomach for it but let me tell you you don't!!! Can you really withstand the SHOCK of just standing by and doing nothing when you watch this grizzly story and not being able to help poor Ingrid?DON'T WATCH THIS!!!! because it will give you nightmares to the rest of your life, I am not kidding my friend!! This is not for the fainthearted, I take no responsibility for what kinds psychotic disorder you may develop after having watched this thrilling NIGHTMARE!!!"Sweden 2008."This gives us a glimpse of what new swedish cinema will look like once the new generation of swedish filmmakers have fully emerged onto the national and international scene. As film critic Nicolai Rustaveli said: 'I hope this presents an average glimpse of future cinema and not the best glimpse, because if this will be average in the future, it is still the best yet'. Having been refused by festivals because of 'distasteful matters', we also get a glimpse of the conformity and lack of spirituality by which the swedish film and culture scene is rotting from the inside. According to the film's director, 'there is no swedish filmmaker in my age who can claim the artistic dignity in the same way I can. I'm simply one of the currently most superior film talents in my country. Not only as an ordinary crafts director, but also as one of the few swedish auteurs as of today. While this film is not any definite masterpiece, it surely prompts the artistic dignity which equals me to many of the best whatsoever, namely for instance Lynch, von Trier and even Bergman. But please, DON'T compare my work to their masterpieces, but to their early works. Then my art will be fairly judged'. And rightly so, the film My Lament Is Like Flowing Water appears to have drawn inspiration from the frigidity of the women of Luis Bunuel, the typical northern anguish expressed in the works of Ingmar Bergman and Roy Andersson, the skillful editing of Roman Polanski, the sound work of Aleksandr Sokurov, the distorted dramaturgical expression of David Lynch, the musical structures of Vera Chytilova, the stylized out-of-sync dubbing of Guy Maddin, the textual symbolicism of August Strindberg, and so on. Not to mention the masterful script, co-written by the poet and painter Niklas Nydahl, who has also contributed to this film with the expressionist disharmonics of his own music. There is no doubt this film is the work of devoted and true young artists - and surely, who wouldn't wait patiently another 10-15 years just to see their REAL masterpieces."Original title in swedish: "Min klagan är som forsande vatten"Written by: Niklas Nydahl, Sebastian Ljunggren Wiberg.
