I want to offer a Special thanks to the composer of this piece, masael255, who wrote this amazing piece (you can see him perform it with orchestra by following this Youtube link ~ http://youtube.com/watch?v=7u2V-NCMGho ~ and then had the generousity to share it with me and permit me to post it. This special musician and scholar truly has the spirit that is the mark of a true artist. I found this to be a beautiful, exhilirating composition. The composer's original performance and liner notes can be found at the link I provided above. Heere's an excerpt of what the composer wrote: The Fifth Season was originally inspired by Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" and borrows certain techniques from this masterwork. However while the "Four Seasons" deal with nature and the physical the "Fifth Season" deals with more emotional and metaphysical aspects. His love of religious study and philosophy coupled with his love of music led Antonio to composing a three movement Sonata each dealing with specific aspects of the metaphysical. The third movement's title, "The Numinous," is a term coined by Rudolf Otto's book "Das Heilige" referring to that which is beyond comprehension. Throughout the third movement the violin imitates two voices constantly causing a sort of illusion on the ear to make it sound as if more instruments are playing. This Sonata relies heavily on improvisation, one of the composer's favorite methods of playing, and though the score is written the player is supposed to make certain choices as to how he or she wishes for passages to be played. This is most apparent in the cadenza particularly due to the fact that half of it is unwritten and is intended to be improvised on spot.
