Translation:For the first time Jeff performed for a great audience in New York was in St. Ann´s church at a tribute concert dedicated to his father Tim B. The strange thing about it was that Jeff hardly knew his father, he only met him one time in his life when he was about 9 years old.It was 1991 when we were working with a record producer named Hal Wilner. Our program-director Janine Nickels wanted to organize a tribute concert for Tim B., I think I´ve mentioned before that we have wonderful acoustics here, it´s a very special location for concerts...a perfect place for celebrating Tim´s music. Janine and Hal started looking for musicians who could interpret Tim´s music...and during these researches we found out that Tim had a son named Jeff that has also been a musician.(Hal:)I think through one of his managers or early publishers we were told that Tim has a son. They talked with Janine about it and during that conversation, somebody mentioned that his son was also a singer and song-writer. Of course I asked: Is he good? - The guy´s reaction: Oh yeah...even better than Tim!...And I was like: Aha..alright...We didn´t know if we should talk to him but then he called at St. Ann´s: "This is Jeff." The person was like: "Who?"I heard of this conversation. Somebody gave him my phonenumber and soon I received the same phone-call: Hi, here´s Jeff.-So I needn´t ask who it was...Maybe it was a therapy in a sense that a door was opened, he now had to deal with his father as he appeared as a musician in public.Especially in the beginning, people had always compared him with his father - which they did through his whole life. Jeff always said: I played a long and exhausting concert, was sweating and put my heart into it and when I walked down from stage, a guy came to say: "I knew your father!" - Jeff didn´t like to be compared with his father but then he started to embrace the part of his dad that was in him and I think it was really through his music...(Hal:)It did become his show, we even asked him to go out again to do an encore...
