Premiere of the KlangDrangOrchestra6.10.2006Alte Feuerwache Cologne, GermanyIn 2006, the KlangDrangOrchester Cologne arose from the "KlangDrang- Festival for incredible Music" and ever since, it has been fed from a network of Cologne, German and European musicians with changing instrumentation. "Incredible Music" contains the fields of New Music, Experimental Music and Free Improvisational Music. It also covers the limit ranges toward the New Media, Fluxus and Performance Art.The vision behind this orchestra is to communicate beyond borders by using the means of intuitive, freely improvised music linked with the idea of a network. The aim of the network is to put artists as well as artistic experiments and activities into a bigger context. I intuitively conduct the musicians of the KlangDrangOrchestra Cologne by using hand signals (gestures) and body language. For a period of time of approximately 90 minutes, one can witness a variety of musical encounters, constant instrumental change-overs and thus a number of sudden twists and turns.
