Ever since I heard "Maggie May" by Rod Steward back in '71 I have just loved the sound of the mandolin. I have never come around to owning one and it seems that I never have had the opportunity to learn to play one.Today I went out and bought my very first normal capo. It is a lovely thing from my favorite maker of capos. What I discovered is that if I strap it on very high up on the neck I get that tingling mandolin sound. So I played around with different tunings and this is what finally came out. ENI have always been fascinated by the creative process...you know, when suddenly you find yourself with a new tune and you really do not know how it came about. That is how it happens to me. I tune my guitar in some odd tuning and just sit and try out different chord changes and then suddenly everything falls into place. It is very peculiar.The title of this tune reflects just that.
