(10/3/08)-The Senate passed a revised version of the bailout package 74-25 on Wednesday, including sweeteners on extending bank deposit insurance and expired tax breaks in order to get more Republicans behind the legislation."There's a song the day the music died. Bush Thursday joined the groundswell of pressure, urging the House to follow the Senate's lead and approve the massive rescue package, warning "people's jobs are in jeopardy."

Buddy Holly apparently covered this tune on his last tour - opened with it, in fact. I always wondered how it sounded - if he did it in a Bluegrass style, or Billy Grammer style, or in a more driven Peggy Sue style. Hmm. I'm always trying to think of what he would have done with those last tunes of his. Here's one possible interpretation of what he might have done with "Gotta Travel On". I think it kinda rocks.

I don't usually believe in government leaks except in the Roswell case. But this researcher was known to have inside information. Ray Fowler is to this day well respected in annals of UFO history as a meticulous investigator. His personal experience in the intelligence community gave him inside connections.
