Dating from 1977 and on Bunny Lee's Justice label this is uptempo release from one of the founders of Jamaican reggae music, Derrick Morgan.Here he espouses the perceived benefits of a Socialist State over a Capitalist Democracy. How were the Jamaican people going to vote? Which direction should the country go? Jamaica was in the middle of terrible political violence between the supporters of Edward Seaga and his Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) and Michael Manley's People's National Party (PNP) who engaged in a bloody struggle which began before the 1976 election and ended when Seaga was installed as Prime Minister in 1980.In this tune Derrick Morgan makes his political intentions clear.
