The second 'Pipe Cup' course of the fictitious fan-designed "Mario Kart Wii: Royal Prix," Piranha Park is a very challenging skate park course (almost as though it were a smaller, outdoor Wario/Waluigi Stadium) full of green half-pipes, full pipes and of course piranha plants inside and outside of pipes and everywhere else.At the end of the concrete skating arena, pipe down to a dark subterranean underworld -- an overgrown hive of hungry piranha plants -- soon emerging out of a horizontal drain pipe overlooking a valley. Then it's a huge jump and an uphill hike back to the start.Short-cuts can be managed by aiming a shell at one of a few piranha pipes that will lead underground sooner.Musically, if you can't hear the many references to Mario pipes, then you have never played a Mario game. Yes, that's the theme from SMB3's "Pipe Maze" halfway through ;)*The ideas for this track were a collaboration with legoman727. The epic final course of the fictitious fan-designed "Mario Kart Wii: Royal Prix, "Rainbow Planet" (from the 'Pipe Cup' grand prix) would be an insane multi-colored multi-boosting superhighway wrapped around the surface of a giant Super Mario Galaxy-esque planet.At one point, players drive through the core (avoiding the windy black hole center), and towards the end, a crazily steep boost ramp launches players into orbit, falling on the complete opposite side of the planet near the start. There are a couple of shortcuts, but because of the ever-dipping horizon, it's not exactly easy to know where you're going -- watch out for the craters -- especially if you're traversing the slow dirt and grass at lightning speeds with a golden mushroom!The main theme of the piece undulates to represent the flowing curves of the sphere-molded track. It also incorporates the melody from my own "Finale & End Credits" (which is essentially this fictitious game's main melodic theme).
