In 1967, Bobby Vee had a major comeback with "Come Back When You Grow Up Girl". His new sound was a light pop folky one and you can see how groovy he was feeling on the album cover. This recording had competition from one by the songwriter, Kenny O'Dell. Kenny's version went to #38 so they charted at almost exactly the same spot! If the versions had not of split airplay, this might have been an even bigger hit (for either of the artists). I love the girls and their "la la la la la la", it's so pretty. Can you imagine if you were walking down the steet feeling groovy and the sun was shining with girls going "la la la la la la" around you? That would be cool.Charted at #37 on Billboard Hot 100 in November 1967.
