WOW!! what a history this song has, it's a pop music ballad from the 1950's. The little note I found with it said, "The singer (meaning our Johnny) reminds his/her lover that, whatever exotic locales and sights he/she experiences, "You Belong To Me." The credits for writing go to two writers, Pee Wee King, Redd Stewart and Chilton Price. It says Price wrote most of the song, and ceded equal credit to the other two (King and Stewart) for their work in promoting it. King and Stewart did rearrange the song because it was written as a war song during WWII and the title changed to "You Belong To Me." It's been recorded by lots of people over the years, Patti Page, Jo Stafford, Dean Martin, The Duprees, the late Patsy Cline and featured in movies like Shrek, Mona Lisa Smile, Grindhouse and Down And Out In Beverly Hills.This song can be found on Johnny's albums In The Still Of The Night and The Music Of Johnny Mathis.
