Chapter 17Abbey started crying, followed by Kirsten breaking down, and Alyssa bawling. Joe, Nick, and Kevin rushed forward, each soothing the girls. *after the girls had quieted their sobs* Joe: *gently* What happened.Alyssa: *rubs her eyes, her mascara streaming* She...had cancer...My parents took us out here...To get away from the pain...She was out fourth musketeer. *She stops, ready to break down again.*Joe: Shhhhh. It's all right.*Alyssa rests her head on his chest.*Nick: Oh man. I'm so sorry. What part of the band was she in?Kirsten: She was the pianist....Nick: Oh..Well, hey, I have an idea. I could disguise myself!! Abbey: yeah, but you don't know any of our songs!Nick: Just give me the music. I'm a natural at piano. Just sing loud. *winks*Kevin: What do each of you play?Alyssa: I play lead guitar.. *looks at Joe and smiles*Abbey: I play drums...Kirsten: and I sing lead, but Alyssa and Abbey sing with me, and they have a few solo parts.Abbey: We take lessons for everything back home.Alyssa: We even landed a few gigs. Before Melodie got diagnosed...The girls start to get teary once more.Kevin: woah! Before we land that again, let's hear a song!*That seemed to distract the girls long enough to get their mind soff their friend*Alyssa: All right! DO you have any equipment for us??Joe: No! We're only a huge boy band that doesn't have any instruments. Alyssa: Oh I'm sorry to hear that. Joe: I'm kidding! Just jump on stage guys!!The girls jumped up and grabbed what they needed, and Alyssa pulled out the sheet music for one of their newer songs, Only When I Say So.Kevin: SO who writes the music?Alyssa: Well, this song I wrote, but mostly we write them together, or occasionally seperately. *she walked over to Nick on the piano and handed him the music, and whispered to him what to do.*Alyssa walked back to her spot and tapped her foot according to her guitar beat. Abbey tested out the drums and Kirsten sang a few notes, Abbey and Alyssa joining in. After everyone was warmed up, they began. It started off with a good ten seconds of opening music, in which Nick caught on fast too. Soon Kirsten was singing.Kirsten. *at the chorus, joined by Abbey and Aly* You think you right, all the time. I'm sorry you feel that way. I'm gunna go. It's time to find... a better day... It's not your choice, Only when I say so....So gooodbyyyeeee goooddbbbyyyeee GOODBYE!! *only when I say so* (back up vocals)Kevin: Wow.Joe: I didn't know you'd be THAT good!! holy shit!Alyssa: excuse me!?Joe: What? Did you fart or something!?Alyssa: JOE!!!!!! *Alyssa takes a flying leap onto Joe's back* Joe: Awww I can smell it!!Alyssa: JOE!! *smacks him on the side of his head!!* That wasn't me!! It was probably your brain burning!!Everyone: Ooooooooh! *laughs*Nick: *gets up off the piano stand.* Well we still have a little bit of time to kill, and another part of our surprise waiting. You beautiful girls want to go bust a move??All 3 girls: YOU KNOW IT!!!Joe lets Alyssa off of his back.Joe: WAIT!! Be right back!! He runs to go get something.Kirsten: Aly, you trust him not getting lost!?Alyssa: Ooo good point! Oh well. *laughs*Everyone chats, until Joe gets back.Kevin: What the--?Nick: No way.Kirsten: Oh. my. god.Abbey: Aly....and why did you leave him alone again...? *turns and looks at Alyssa*Alyssa puts her head in her hands.Joe struts out from behind the stage in a little mermaid costume.Joe: Well, you know, it's a custom for me to wear a costume now, What do you think? *spins around in a circle, twirling his long fake red hair wig with his finger. He gets a little dizzy and stumbles. ALyssa: *cough* Umm.. *cough* It's umm int...er..esting...Everyone laughs. Nick: Typical Joe.Kevin: At least he lightened the mood. Joe: *in high pitched girly voice* So what are we waiting for!? Let's get this show on the road baby!Alyssa: Joe.....*laughs* Wooowwww. I love you.Joe: *scoffs* Who doesn't??Nick: *cough* eh-eh-hmm.Joe: Nick, we talked about this. Your comments. They CUT DEEP MAN!!!Nick: I'm sorry man. Truth is....your irresistible.
