Onegin has sent a letter to Tatjana confessing his changed feelings. Tatjana reads the letter and it deeply disturbs her. She fondly says goodbye to her husband Prince Gremin. Onegin comes to her home to confront Tatjana with his feelings. She is fighting a renewed attraction to him. She confesses she has loved and will always love him. But she will not betray her husband and rejects him, tearing up his letter. It is his turn to be rejected.
