Number 1 in the 'Talent Bypass' series of pseudo-musical bits made up on my computer.Please make allowances for the slight, unavoidable audio deterioration that comes from uploading to YouTube and the file conversion process (those are just SOME of my many excuses).A friend of mine went to see Jean-Michel Jarre in concert and really liked it. I said I'd try to make something up that was a sort of musical homage to the legendary JMJ sound. However, the piece grew and evolved in unexpected ways, and apparently it didn't want to be much of a JMJ homage. Now I don't know WHAT it is! Perhaps it's just the sound of what happens when I play around with some software. There are only faint remnants of the JMJ influence, perhaps most clearly in the way the rhythm section is put together (which was much harder to do than it probably sounds).It's called Dragon Star because the JMJ concert was in Ljubljana, which is also knows as the Dragon City. And because it vaguely has something to do with star-gazing and the the wondrous, inspirational feeling you get from looking at the distant stars, Hubble images and so on. Or something like that.Geek data: all done using MBox 2 kit and ProTools LE software. All instruments from the XPand plugin for ProTools LE.
