My music("Sakura"), pictures and video taken in Montreal's Botanical Garden. You will not see Sakura as cherry blossom in this video, sorry, but rather blossom of nature. French Jardin Botanique De Montréal, botanical garden in Montreal founded in 1936 by Frère Marie-Victorin, one of the greatest of Canadian botanists. It has approximately 20,000 plant species under cultivation and maintains a herbarium consisting of nearly 100,000 reference specimens. Of the garden's many greenhouses, 9 are for public display and 23 for service functions and research collections.Sakura or Cherry Blossom (Japanese kanji and Chinese character: 桜 or 櫻; katakana: サクラ) is the Japanese name for ornamental cherry trees, Prunus serrulata, and their blossoms. Cherry fruit (known as sakuranbo) come from a different species of tree. It can also be used as a name. HistorySakura is indigenous to the Himalayas and in east Asia such as China, Japan and South Korea. Japan has a wide variety of sakura—more than 305 species can be found there. This is because many were artificially hybridized or grafted by the Japanese many centuries ago.
