Rebecca: My... boyfriend?Lady: Yes, the curly haired boy you've been dancing with. You two make the perfect couple.Rebecca: Um, thank you but... Kevin's not my boyfriend.Lady: Really? I could have sworn he was. The way you two look at each other... you two are perfect for the other. (sits down) Is this your first date?Rebecca: Um, sort of. We went to the mall once before but I don't think that counts.Lady: Well, he obviously really cares for you if he takes you here. What's your name dear?Rebecca: I'm Rebecca.Lady: My name is Doris. (AN: honestly couldn't think of anything else)Rebecca: It is a pleasure to meet you Doris.Doris: You too dear. Does he know how lucky he is to have you?Rebecca: I... um, I'm not sure if he's lucky at all.Doris: He is. You're a wonderful girl. Oh, look here he comes.And sure enough, Kevin was walking our way. "It's been wonderful talking to you Rebecca. I hope you have a happy life with him." I was shocked. With him? We weren't even dating and she had already said I would have a life with him? What was that about? I stuttered out, "G-goodbye." Doris walked away and I sat there still thinking about her words. Kevin: Who was that?Rebecca: Um, just some lady.Kevin: Well, wanna dance some more?Rebecca: Sure.We got up and walked back to the dance floor. We got into the same position as before and we swayed to the music.Rebecca: Kevin? Can I ask you something?Kevin: Anything.Rebecca: Do you... um... do you consider yourself... lucky?Kevin: About what?Rebecca: Um, nothing. Never mind. (looks down)Kevin: Rebecca... about what? You can tell me. Rebecca: Well... um... about me.Kevin: (laughs)Rebecca: (looks up) What's so funny?Kevin: You say it like you're scared or something. Of course I'm lucky to be with you tonight. I'm lucky I get to even talk to you. Rebecca: Why?Kevin: Because you are the most amazing girl I have ever met. (leans down and gently kisses her)Rebecca: (blushes)Kevin: You wanna go to the park?Rebecca: That sounds nice.We left the restaurant and I headed to the truck but Kevin stopped me. "The park is this way." We walked away and into some trees. We kept walking until I saw an opening up ahead. We stepped out and I saw the park. It was like any other park. It had swings, slides, and picnic tables. "Come on."Kevin took my hand and led me to an open space. He laid down on the grass and patted the space next to him. "Lay down with me." I obeyed and stared up into the night sky. I was looking at the stars when Kevin pointed up. "Hey look. A shooting star. Make a wish," he said.I closed my eyes and made my wish. It was something I hoped would come true with all my heart. I opened them and looked over at Kevin. "So what did you wish for?" I giggled. "I can't tell you or it won't come true." He laughed with me. "Well, you promise to tell me when it does come true?" I smiled and thought for a couple of seconds. "Sure," I replied. We laid there for a good thirty minutes until it got really cold. Rebecca: (shivers)Kevin: Here. (takes off jacket and gives it to her)Rebecca: Thanks. (slips it on)Kevin: You look adorable.Rebecca: (smiles) Can we go now?Kevin: Sure. Tomorrow's the first day of classes anyways. Rebecca: Yeah, and I forgot to set my alarm. I have to wake up early.We got up and headed towards the truck, holding hands the whole way. We got in and I leaned against Kevin's shoulder.
