Atlanta power pop band, The Raves, music video. 1982. The Raves were one of a handful of bands playing this sort of music in the deep south in the 70's and 80's. They self-released their music before it was fashionable (or called "indy") and played mainly in the Atlanta area at venues like The Agora Theatre, The Roxy, The Bistro, 688 Club and other cool clubs that (sadly) no longer exist. The Raves consisted of 3 brothers (Chuck, John and Jim Yoakum - guitar, bass and drums respectively) and old friend Ken Kennedy on lead guitar. They wrote all of their own music and starrted in their own cable-access TV show called "Eh, Wot's This?!" (which this is taken from) from 1980-1983. "Eh Wot's This?!" was an odd blend of original comedy sketches mixed with music video. It won the "Best Comedy/Variety" Telly award in 1982.
