Damita Jo DeBlanc was an actress, comedian, and lounge music performer who reached success in the early 60s. Her first recordings were answer songs, Ill Save The Last Dance For You and Ill Be There (answer to Stand By Me). This song was on the flip side of one of Damita Jos hits, If You Go Away in 1966. Janet Jacksons full name is Janet Damita Jo Jackson, named after her mothers favorite singer. After a brief singing career, Damita Jo turned to comedy and acting and was part of the Redd Foxx TV series.
