READ FIRST!!!I have a few words to say about this video.. I hope I'll do this right.Title "Space dementia" is the term NASA uses to describe the mental condition a few astronauts experience when they're in space. This can be contributed towards feelings of insignificance, insecurity, lack of social contact and the astronauts' awareness of total isolation from the human race. That is the core of what this video is about. Ok, let me start from the beginning...First Margaret is shown as her innocent and ignorant self, she lives with tranquil undisturbed balance of her pure thoughts. Then, you see Thornton in a very different picture. His want of power and authoritative attitude is expressed by the rising music. Margaret enters his entirely different world when she goes to the mill and immediately feels overwhelmed by what she sees there, at once she feels she is insignificant and insecure in his world (space dementia #1). You hear Thornton's thoughts: "H8 is the one for meIt gives me all I needAnd helps me coexistWith the chill"He also feels insecure with his workers, and has no real contact with them (space dementia #2) -- that is why he uses his authoritative power to control them and feel secure, to co-exist.But, finally, Margaret finds her voice because of her strong beliefs. When she sees Thornton beating the worker, she starts hating him... But later she realizes that despite all her hate, she also loves him and all his "dirty tricks" when she is around him. She feels overpowered and confused by both of these extreme emotions (space dementia #3) -- "You make me sick.. because I adore you so..."Then, she is on the stairs, lost in the crowd of workers. In a way she sees how strong is the power of such big social group that she doesn't belong to (space dementia #4) but then Higgins rescues her and that is when she finally decides which side to take. When she meets Thornton later, she is already decided to suppress all the good feeling towards him as she joined the opposite side... That is when the "I" in the song changes to "Us". The workers decide to rebel against the master. Margaret is with them too though she still feels the despised love for Thornton "I'd cut your name in my heart"She joins Thornton to watch the strike. When she is near him, she starts believing that maybe there is still a chance for him to change his destructive attitude. She speaks to him about the poverty of the workers and their dying children. Somehow she manages to reach his heart, he reminds himself when he walked down the street and saw a young girl starving to death. He felt insecure about being so close to the working class and a moment of pity took over when she saw the "space dementia" in this girl's eyes. Then Thornton sees a face of a suffering woman in the crowd instead of one big faceless enemy. He looks at Margaret one more time and without thinking, he goes there to finish the strike. Margaret soon joins him to help the "peace to arise". However, Thornton is not used to talking to his workers without the authoritative inclinations, both sides are not used to a normal dialogue, they lack the needed social contact (space dementia #5). When he starts screaming at them, the case is lost. The first "bang" means the rising rage and tension of the strikers. Margaret feels that something is wrong and tries to protect Thornton - the piano arpeggios show that it's the first time that they both realize that they love each other. But then, there is the second "bang" and Margaret is killed...Thornton doesn't realize that it was his fault, that it was the lack of contact between the master and the workers that caused this accident. All of Margaret's dreams and ideas are lost. The just discovered love is gone too. Now, Thornton hates the crowd more than ever before...I believe that this vid could be treated as a prequel to my "NS From Yesterday", I would just have to change some things there in the plot ;))Music:Muse -- Space DementiaH8 is the one for meit gives me all i needand helps me co-excist with the chillyou make me sick because i adore you soi love all the dirty tricksand twisted games you play on mespace dementia in your eyespeace will arise and tear us apartand make us meaningless againyou'll make us want to diei'd cut your name in my heartwe'll destroy this world for youi know you want me to feel your painspace dementia in your eyespeace will arise and tear us apartand make us meaningless again*****THIS VIDEO IS PURELY FAN MADE! It's my way of expressing the admiration I have towards them and it is - in my opinion - a good tool to promote them to other people...
