A rare 1937 Ampico spinet plays a roll. This is the last model introduced by Ampico, and at a cost of $495, it still had unsuccessful sales. The depression and loss of interest in player pianos proved to be the demise of the once popular Ampico. This piano has been restored in phases as each original component ceases to operate. The air motor, tracker and other spool box components are still original.

"The Song is Ended" by Irving Berlin plays as Ampico Artists are remembered. Their Catalog pictures are seen while J. Milton Delcamp performs. The words to the song appear in time with the music. This is not meant to be an impressive presentation, but rather, one of commemoration. It did however, take considerable effort to align the scans, lyrics, and music. Each of the 66 artists pictured makes a brief 3 second cameo. While current Ampico owners already realize the importance of these artists, people new to this medium should take notice that these artists performed with a depth of interpretation that is missing in most modern performers.A web site gives details of this piano and has podcasts of seven other perfomances http://web.me.com/bobtaylor5/Ampico/Welcome.html
