I love the feeling of deep-house-garage ala Masters At Work, wich is heavily jazz and cuban-influenced, often featuring "traditional" instruments and a LOT of amazing, soulful voices.They always seems to have wicked changes, so here I am jammin to a beat I made consisting of two chords, lasting 2 bars each. ----A lil bit of boring theory----The first chord is C-Db-F-Ab-C, wich can be considered as Db Major 7 with the 7th dropped. The second chord is the same... but a major 3rd higher.So the same thing won't "work" for the two chords. (ie. as it could if it was a 4th or a 5th higher)Those chords can sound like many other things, it all depends on wich mode you wanna use on the bass: ie the first thing I use is Bb dorian (how original !), wich makes the first chord sound like Bb Minor 9.Jammin this way makes you hear and mix different colors, and you gotta concentrate on making "real" house basslines, watching the shuffle feel, and finding cool root motions.BTW, after I played this I realized the first bassline is VERY similar to "Starlight" by Juan Atkins xD
