One of the true "divas" of Cuban music, Lourdes Torres has been a performer for almost half a century. She composes and performs her own music, much with a strong feminist bent. Recorded live at the famous Dos Gardenias Nightclub , she spoke to producer Illiana Batista Suarez in her home in Central Havana . Filmed on location in Cuba in digital video, Musica Femenina highlights more than 10 groups and individual performances by some of the "divas" of Cuban music, like Lourdes, and also gives a rarely seen look into their private lives.
