Kevin wondered why. Halfway back, he asked.Kevin: Taylor, why are you crying?Taylor: (Sniffles) My dad's birthday was today.Kevin: Oh. Kevin pulls over at the nearest gas station.Kevin: It's ok, Taylor. You should cry. He kisses her head. Taylor smelled his smell. He didn't smell of anything. She curled herself into a ball and cried some more. It was her first birthday without her father. She was bound to be sad. They only listened to Radio Disney the whole way back.Announcer: And we'll be right back with the Jonas Brothers!Kevin: What?Taylor: This isn't live, you know.Kevin: Oh yeah.Announcer: And we're back! So, Kevin, tell us, how excited are you for your new cd, coming August 12?Kevin's voice: Pretty excited. We have a lot of new songs. That guy’s name was Harold Frances....ca.Taylor: Uhm....Kevin: Soooooooooooooo.... do you like cheese? (AN: AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA)Taylor: You think my dad was weird? Creepy?Kevin: I didn’t know he was your dad!Taylor: Figures. He said before he did that interview that he was interviewing some big, famous boy band.Kevin: Taylor, i’m so sorry.Taylor just looks away, into the greenery which is wizzing past.Kevin: Come on, don’t give me the silent treatment!She still looks away. Kevin sighs and reviews some things in his head. He, Nick and Joe were just cast in a movie called Camp Rock. Kevin was an “out there” guy named Jason, who wanted a birdhouse real bad, and who like group hugs. Kevin starts to hum a song from the movie.Kevin: (To the tune of Play My Music) Hm hm hm hm hm hm hm hm, hmmmm hmmmm hmmmm.Taylor doesn’t want to ruin it, so she slips him a note. What song is that? it asked.Kevin: Play My Music from my new movie, Camp Rock. It’s coming out June 20.She hands him another note.Kevin: (Reading) Cool beans. Haha.Taylor: I need to talk.Kevin: Finally!Taylor: I....nevermind.*At the Jonas House*Everyone was anticipating the arrival of Taylor. They wanted to see how she looked. Finally, Kevin’s car drove up into the driveway. Taylor his her hair under a floppy, black Chanel sunhat with a floppy rim and gold Cs printed all over, with a Chanel charm hanging down.Kylee: TAY TAY!!!!!!Taylor: KY!!!!Brit: Taylor! Welcome back! (Looks her up and down) Nice hat!Taylor: BRIT! (Pulls her into a hug) Great to be back.Kylee: Why don’t you take off that hat?Kylee reaches for the rim, but Taylor grasps the hat tight.Kylee: What’s wrong with you?Taylor: (Quickly) Nothing. Nothing at all.Brit: If you say so....Mrs. Jonas: Welcome back. Taylor: Thanks.They all go inside.Taylor: Uhm... Brit and Kylee? Can we talk in private for a minute?Brit: Sure.Kylee: Yeah.Taylor pulls them aside.Brit: Wassup?Taylor: This.She removes her hat. Her straight, black hair falls out from it in a perfect layered fountain.Kylee: Why did you do that?!Taylor: I was angry over Kevin...Brit: (Looks at her front pocket) Tay......Taylor: Uhm...Kylee reaches into her front pocket.Kylee: OH NO YOU DIDN’T!!!!!!!Taylor: Don’t tell anyone!!!!!
