I was looking for ideas and objects that I could use as cases to mount my WSGs (Weird Sound generators) in. Goodwill stores are great places to find odd (And possibly strange) things to use as cases. One item I saw, that i thought had possibilities was a lobster-shaped jello mold! but i thought it was a little too small to cram a WSG into....but maybe I'll go back and get that?Anyway...I found these fun kiddie toys that make noises. I'd like to try some more circuit-bending, and these looked like likely candidates.....Untill I got them home, and started playing with them, especially the one with the LEDs and touch screen! Once I discovered THAT part of the toy (Which i thought was just some kiddie karaoke machine) I wigged out on it for an hour.It would be a shame to destroy the touch-screen, or just rip the LEDs out of it. But maybe if I can really bend things, it could be some kind of controller for a SoundLab? Or vice-versa? Those patterns it makes with the lights could be synced up to the Oscillators or ADSR or filter circuits? Many possibilities....I just hope I don't destroy it BEFORE finding the best thing to do with it.And my hat is off like a wheel of swiss cheese to the MFOS and Electro-music folks!
