The Story of Edison Lane The history of Edison Lane, and the rock band bearing his name, is a bit sketchy due to a number of factors; but here is an approximate timeline of events. In 1990-91 guitarist Edison Lane, bassist Trebor Norka, and drummer Wolfgang Schmidt, relocated to the Seattle area. They said that they had come from the East Coast but we've been unable to verify that. Shortly after their arrival they hooked up with a local rock band called Legacy. Edison Lane performed as the backup band to Legacy on roughly 15-20 occasions throughout 1991 and 1992. Some of the members of the 2 groups seemed to click and they became friends during this time. Eventually Edison Lane and the guitarist of Legacy co-wrote roughly 30-40 songs together. However, Legacy's "time" had come and gone; so as Legacy faded away, Edison Lane received permission to perform and record the co-written songs (with the standard songwriter agreements). From 1993 to 1995 the facts get kind of blurry but the career of Edison Lane began to take off and eventually they were signed by a fledgling NW Record Label. They began recording their debut CD; but that came to a halt when they were picked up for a European Tour in 1995. Upon the conclusion of the tour they decided to take a short breather before finishing their CD. Edison Lane (the entire band) were known to study, and actively pursue, the paranormal and the mystical places of the Earth. Thus their choice for a short vacation: Machu Picchu. Our research team has been unable to verify any known family, previous residences or even that the names they used were real! So... this is where any semblance of fact ends... and speculation and rumors begin.
