Gospel singing in Africa woke me up.Video short. I had no idea that there was a religious meeting below my flat.The singing, on Sunday morning, was amazing, i couldn't believe how good it was. I got my camera, and of course it stopped just as i was starting to record.The religious group were below my flat and there was one young woman beating this drum while the rest were singing in harmony. The vocals were amazing, the meter was incredible as they were singing in a rare African subdued/delayed antistrophe style.It was just superb, i wish i had captured the whole song. I just woke up on the Sunday morning to this sound. It was simply amazing as i say. A small group having a religious meeting (revivalists) broken occasionally with songs. The young woman in the audience was sitting down with the flat drum (like the Irish Bodhran (bodhrán) (pron: bow-rahn)) & was taking a lead vocal role at times, her voice was awesome & piercing, and the rest of the congregation came back with the follow-up stanza. I just got the last 10-seconds on avi.Recorded January 2008, during very violent political & civic unrest.
