This was the first song that I wrote for a Fringe Festival show done by Dan Reiva's Electric Telescope Theatre Company. I had auditioned for Quantum Odyssey, the first Fringe Festival show that he did with the company, which was based off of the Odyssey by Homer; it was my first audition and I didn't have a headshot or a resume. He asked me to do the show, cast me as Orpheus, and had me play guitar for the show. I didn't consider myself necessary to the show until after the final performance, he said "I couldn't have done it without you."Because I did acting with StageCoach Theatre Arts with his daughter, he was able to get me back for the next show he was doing. After the first rehearsal, I noodled around on electric guitar, trying to emulate the sound of the World Trade Center blowing up, and out of it came the chord progression, and the first verse just came out of me. I showed what I had so far to the cast. The sound effect wasn't liked, but the song was. A couple of days later, I decided that I should make it a real song, and this time, unlike before, I decided not to have lines that were just there to rhyme with other lines. I didn't think that I'd ever write a song as good as this until I wrote "Finding Your Way Home," for the show that Dan Reiva had the Electric Telescope Theatre Company do the year after. However, after looking at how many views that this ones had here on YouTube, without any real promotion for this one specifically, it seems that most people think of this as my best song.
