Beginning as early as age twelve, Jay Raymond has been playing guitar and composing for the better part of his life. In 2001, Jay Raymond was accepted to Millikin University where he studied classical guitar under NPR soloist Manley Mallard and received the Young Artists Award. In 2002, he transferred to Northern Illinois University where he studied jazz under virtuoso guitarist Fareed Haque and received his Bachelors of Music with honors. Jay Raymond is currently a Masters of Music candidate at Webster University and leads his own jazz trio. He has been playing guitar professionally since 16 and has been nominated for a fellowship award by the Composers Organization for Creativity and Kinship.
