From the 1 June 1998 performance of Bellini's opera, I Capuleti e i Montecchi (The Capulets and the Montagues)' at Semperoper Dresden: this is the final scene (duet: O tu mio sola speme/ Vivi, ah, vivi). Romeo, thinking that Giulietta had really died, commits suicide by swallowing poison while grieving at her tomb. Alas! She was only faking death and wakes up too late to stop him. After some quibbling the hero expires from the death potion, and the heroine falls dead upon him... apparently from a broken heart.
