It facilitates authentication and restricts access to tasks that the current user is not intended to own. The login module ensures that the user is authenticated by verifying his/her username and password with the ones that are already stored in the database, which in our case is the Microsoft SQL Server 2005. The Users are provided with a login username and password with the user friendly sign up process. The sign up process is also provided with a high level of integrity. Since no other user who is not a part of the educational institution is allowed to gain access, the sign up module is not available to anyone who could gain access to a computer connected in the LAN. Therefore to restrict such users from gaining access to the NanoS, the sign up process is made secure by the inclusion of the 32 bit authenticated key, which is made available to any member of the educational institution who are supposed to sign up with the NanoS. This 32 bit authenticated key is available only from the administrator's login and the key is distributed to the members who would have to provide the key during the sign up process. The key ensures that no other user other than the members of the institution be able to sign up with the system. Since no user can gain access to NanoS without a valid username and password, this 32 bit key features the security that is provided to the login module. Hence we could make the system secure from other intruders from hacking into the system.
