I haven't slept in days. It could very well be because Kevin has been tossing around in his sleep. I think he's been having nightmares but he hasn't told me yet. I rolled out of bed and went to start getting ready for work. I suddenly heard screaming coming from the room. I ran in to check on Kevin and he was curled up on the bed, shivering. Me: Kevin *shaking him lightly* wake up.Kevin: *shaking his head* What's going on.Me: Sweetie, you were dreaming...again. Is there something you want to tell me.Kevin: No, I'm Ok, really... just can't sleep. Sorry I woke you so early.Me: That's Ok, I have to go to work anyways.Kevin: mmmm, stay here with me. Me: I can't, I have to go. I'm gonna finish getting dressed.I started to get up and go to my closet and get out my clothes. Forgetting that he's just watching I started to get undressed and change into my work clothes.Kevin: god, that's so hot.Me: jeez, can't I get dressed in piece. *giggling*Kevin: you have a habit of undressing while people are watching don't you.Me: Hey, I can't complain. That's how I got you in my bed in the first place.He smiled at me and then I finished getting dressed. I waited for Nick to get there. He's really been a lot of help. It's a good thing they had time off from school for thanksgiving break or I don't know what would've happen. Half way through the day I get a frantic phone call from Nick saying he has to leave. Emily was rushed to the hospital and he has to go right away. I left my desk and ran straight upstairs. He barely could tell me the story and ran out the door. I yelled to him to make sure to call me when there was news. I asked Kevin if he knew what happened and he said something about she was having pains and then they just rushed her there. Me: I better go see if he gets there OK and if she's ok. He shouldn't be alone.Kevin: It's ok. I'll be fine. I've been getting around better on my cast now. I'll try not to get up to much and if I need help I'll call Joe or something.Me: yeah, that's a lot of help. I'll be back soon *kisses him goodbye*Nick's POV.....................I get to the hospital and they tell me that she called 911 because she had doubled over in pain and she didn't know what to do. I wish I had been with her. She probably felt so alone. I sat down on a nearby bench. I felt the tears start to spill and I couldn't stop them. Just then I heard a familiar voice call out my name. I looked up and It was Maria. I was a little shocked to see her. I wipes the tears from my eyes and stood up. She ran up to me and hugged me.Nick: What are you doing here?Me: I was worried about you and she's my friend so I needed to make sure everyone was Ok. Nick: good I could use the companyWe sat there for hours before someone came out to tell us what was going on.Doctor: Well, here is the deal. She had appendicitis. We took out her appendix just in time. She'll be fine now. I think you should call her parents but as far as visiting her maybe tomorrow. She'll be in recovery for a while.Nick: Thank you doctorMe: Well now that I know she's gonna be OK I should get back to Kevin. He's probably trying to figure out how to get dinner for himself.Nick: *laughing* thanks I needed to laugh. Let me walk you to your car.I walked her out to the parking lot and we leaned up against her car and talked for a few minutes.Nick: that was real nice of you to keep me company, you didn't have to stay this whole time with me.Me: Nick, you did it for me when Kevin was here. You were there when I needed you. It's the least I could do.I leaned in to give her a hug and we kinda sat there for a minute. I realized that it was probably to long but when we pulled apart I was overwhelmed with emotion from all the events of the night that I pulled her back to me and kissed her. Her lips were soft and she was so warm. I opened my mouth a little more to get a deeper kiss and I realized she wasn't kissing me back. Nick: *let's go of her and puts his hand on his head* I'm so sorry. I was caught up in the moment. We are always there for each other and it felt comfortable. I'm so sorry. Do you hate me now?She didn't say a word, she just got into her car and drove away.
